Full-Funnel Attribution & Analytics Infrastructure for a Family Law Firm

We needed to ensure we can track it, not just record it. We wanted to know the life time value of the client from each source and how much it cost to capture that client.
Executive Summary
A prominent Family Law firm was investing heavily across multiple acquisition channels—including Google PPC, Local Service Ads (LSA), Meta, Organic SEO for Family Law, and referral networks—but lacked the infrastructure to measure the true return on investment (ROI). Their existing systems could not "track it by lead source meaning which lead came from each source". We engineered a full-funnel tracking and analytics infrastructure, moving the firm from manual tracking to a high-performance, automated data environment.
- •Key Results: Complete tracking visibility established across 6+ acquisition channels, allowing the firm to accurately measure their Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) and Lifetime Value (LTV).
- •Timeframe: Deployed in 4–6 weeks through parallel engineering tracks.
- •Tech Stack: Next.js, Google BigQuery, Google Tag Manager, CallRail, Lawmatics, MyCase.

The Challenge
The firm was experiencing significant growth, but their digital tracking infrastructure was creating severe operational blind spots. They needed a system that could answer real, human-search queries and solve the following pain points:
- •Attribution Blind Spots: They had different ads going in different locations and needed to know exactly "which ad is bringing in the revenue and what city". They also needed to know how many clients they were getting from "social media free posting" and track if anything was "going viral so that I am repost them".
- •Unclear LTV vs. CAC: Marketing performance was judged on upfront retainer payments, but they needed to see the "total revenue from the individual lead tracked back to the client then see the life time revenue from that client tracked backed to the individual lead". Crucially, they needed to "track who is not paying after the initial retainer runs out back to the lead to track the leakage".
- •Intake Inefficiencies: The firm needed a reliable "structure to follow up automatically by text and email" because leads were going cold. They also needed to accurately benchmark if incoming calls were "AI answered or Human answered".
- •Disconnected Systems: Marketing data lived in silos and did not flow seamlessly into their Practice Management Software (PMS), MyCase, making it impossible to see the full client journey.
The Strategy
To ensure a flawless implementation without paying for unnecessary audits of broken systems, we pivoted to a strategic, forward-looking build. The strategy focused on three pillars:
- •Comprehensive Architecture: We developed an exhaustive 224-point Requirements Checklist mapping every data point needed across Paid Media, Organic Search, and Referral Networks.
- •Full-Funnel Tracking: Utilizing a robust tracking framework to monitor leads natively from the first click, through the consultation, and into total billed revenue logged within MyCase.
- •Lead Automation: Bridging the gap between marketing and intake by integrating automated sequences that allow prospects to easily book free or paid consultations.

The Execution
We rebuilt the firm's analytics and follow-up architecture from the ground up, deployed across three distinct phases:
- •Phase 1 - Tracking Setup: Implemented Google Tag Manager and CallRail dynamic number insertion to pinpoint exactly which ad or keyword generated every call and form submission, pushing this attribution data directly into MyCase.
- •Phase 2 - Lead Automations: Built automated text and email nurture sequences in Lawmatics (2 days, weekly, then monthly). We also gave prospects the "ability for the clients to select time for consultation from the calendar with different days and time".
- •Phase 3 - Executive Analytics: Built a custom frontend dashboard using Next.js, seamlessly connected to a Google BigQuery data warehouse. This bespoke application pulls source data alongside MyCase revenue figures to power a private executive view that tracks real Cost Per Client, Client Lifetime Value, and the ROI of both digital ads and human referral networking.
The Results
The new infrastructure transformed the firm’s marketing operations into a high-performance engine. Based on the custom Next.js tracking dashboard, the firm could instantly visualize real-time performance across channels. They could finally differentiate a standard case from a "converted high net worth lead" that could easily yield significant revenue over the following years.
| Channel | Spend | Leads | CAC | Revenue | ROI (LTV:CAC) | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SEO Local (GBP) | $800 | 9 | $400 | $9,650 | 12.1x | |
| SEO Website | $2,400 | 14 | $1,200 | $8,450 | 3.5x | |
| Local Service Ads (LSA) | $3,100 | 11 | $1,550 | $8,700 | 2.8x | |
| Google PPC | $5,600 | 12 | $1,867 | $15,550 | 2.8x |
(Note: The table below utilizes sample data to illustrate the final dashboard's capabilities while protecting client confidentiality)
By accurately mapping collected MyCase revenue and LTV back to the specific originating keyword, ad, or referral source, the firm could confidently scale winning campaigns and eliminate unprofitable spend.
