Meridian Legal Advisors: Google Business Profile Optimization
Five months of Google Business Profile work took a Woodlands law firm from a profile nobody could find to 225 interactions and 11 five star reviews.

"They took the time to understand our goals, listened to feedback, and made thoughtful recommendations that have significantly improved the overall design and user experience."
Summary
Meridian Legal Advisors is an estate planning and business law firm in The Woodlands, Texas. The firm's reputation was already strong. Its Google Business Profile was not. The profile had never been built out, so the firm was close to invisible in the local results where most people start looking for an attorney.
We took the profile over in May 2026 and optimized every part of it, from categories and services to photos, posting and citations. Profile views rose from 136 in May to 431 in September, an increase of 217 percent. Interactions with the profile climbed from 9 in the first month to 67 in the fifth.
The profile now appears for the firm's commercial practice areas rather than branded searches alone, and it carries 11 five star reviews. The work is ongoing.
The Problem
A Google Business Profile is the first thing many people see when they search for a local law firm. Before May 2026, this one had the basics filled in and little else.
Categories, services, hours and attributes were incomplete, which left Google with thin material to match against a local search. Photos were sparse. There was no posting activity, so the profile gave Google and visitors nothing new to look at. The firm was also absent from many of the local directories that feed the local results.
The result was a profile that a searcher could pass without noticing, for a firm whose clients had plenty to say about them.
What We Changed
We optimized the full profile rather than one section of it.
| Area | What was done |
|---|---|
| Categories and services | Set to match the firm's practice areas, including estate planning, tax and asset protection, business planning, financial planning and business formations |
| Description | Written to describe the firm in the words clients search with |
| Hours and attributes | Completed so the profile answers the questions a searcher asks before calling |
| Photos | Added across the office, the team and client meetings |
| Posts | A regular posting routine using new photos |
| Questions and answers | Filled in with the questions a local attorney search raises |
| Booking link and service areas | Set so the profile routes interest to the firm and reflects where it works |
Ongoing work
- Citation building across Texas and Woodlands local directories, run continuously to widen the area the firm is found in
- Review management, so new reviews are answered and the profile keeps its rating
The Results
Visibility
| Month | Profile views | Interactions |
|---|---|---|
| May 2026 | 136 | 9 |
| June 2026 | 182 | 39 |
| July 2026 | 501 | 64 |
| August 2026 | 667 | 31 |
| September 2026 | 431 | 67 |
Profile views rose 217 percent from May to September. The largest single month was August, at 667 views. A further 15 interactions arrived in the first 14 days of October, taking the running total to 225.
Search is doing the heavy lifting. Views from Google Search on desktop went from 66 in May to 296 in September, peaking at 531 in August. Mobile search views rose from 28 to 97 over the same period.

The profile is one of the places a firm wins local searches. Our SEO for law firms 2026 guide covers search visibility beyond the profile.
What people do once they find the profile
Google counts an interaction when someone takes an action on the profile: a call, a booking, a request for directions or a click through to the website. Across all four, the profile recorded 225 interactions between May 1 and October 14, 2026.
Two of those actions tell the story for a firm with a physical office.
| Action | Total, May 1 to October 14, 2026 |
|---|---|
| Direction requests | 181 |
| Website clicks | 38 |
People find the firm, check where it is, and a share of them go on to the website. Website clicks matter most here, because bookings are made on the site rather than through the profile. The firm's rebuilt website went live on May 13, 2026, so the clicks in this period landed on the new site.

The search terms changed
This is the part we watch most closely, because it shows what Google thinks the profile is for.
| Month | What the profile appeared for |
|---|---|
| May 2026 | the woodlands estate planning attorney |
| June 2026 | estate planning attorney the woodlands, plus the firm's own name |
| July 2026 | attorneys who do wills in the woodlands tx, business law attorney 77380, business litigation attorney 77382, contract law attorney 77380 |
| August 2026 | business attorney the woodlands tx, business litigation attorney 77382, contract law attorney 77380, contract law attorney 77382 |
| September 2026 | business litigation attorney 77382, contract law attorney 77380, contract law attorney 77382 |
In May and June the profile was being found for estate planning and for the firm's name. From July it started appearing for business, contract and litigation searches, several of them tied to a local ZIP code. Those are the firm's commercial practice areas, and they are the searches made by people who are ready to hire.
That shift is what SEO for estate planning lawyers sets out to produce, and the profile is where a local search starts.
Where the Reviews Stand
The profile now carries 11 reviews, all five star, for an average rating of 5.0.
The reviews are worth reading for more than the rating. Clients describe the work in their own words, and those words name services the firm wants to be known for: trusts, wills, family estate plans, operating agreements, accounting and small business work. A profile that carries that language is a profile Google and customers can match to real searches.

What Happens Next
Two pieces of work are in progress or planned.
- Citation building continues across Texas and Woodlands local directories, which expands the area the firm can be found in
- Short videos are next, added to the profile posts to lift engagement beyond photos
Both sit inside the same engagement, so this page will be updated as the numbers come in. A profile is one part of local SEO for law firms. The site, the citations and the content around it are the rest, and all of it runs together.
